Greetings,

Those that know me personally, know me as Michael. My stage name is DJ Lamb.  I actually see myself as more of an Entertainer versus a Disc Jockey (DJ).

Music is one of many incredible expressions that we share with our fellow, living sentient beings. Those of you who are old enough to remember, technology was limited to radio, albums (vinyl), and cassette tapes. Originally from Chicago (yes, the actual city, not a suburb; some folks are real picky about that), I moved with my family to the great state of Alaska. That was a big life change for me. Moving from a population of 4.5 million to 2,300 in the early 1980’s. I was glued to the radio, listening to Casey Kasem’s weekly countdown. Like many teen-agers, I had my boombox up close to the speaker in the living room, recording Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock’n’roll”, which at the time was #1 for six weeks in a row. That was a big deal back then.

I lived in Alaska for about nine years. While in college, I hooked up with a good friend of mine who had a totally different taste in music. We combined our talents and got our first DJ job. Back then, it was merely a hobby. I moved to Wisconsin, in order to pursue my Master’s Degree in Education. While there, I continued to DJ part-time. Note, in addition to DJing, I was very active with a variety of campus events. My favorite past-time/contest was Airband (also known as a Lip-Sync Contest). So, as far back as college, I always had a passion for entertaining and performing in front of my peers or large audiences.

After completing my Masters, I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. I used my degree to successfully land a job at UNC-Charlotte. After several years, I made the pivotal decision to go from part-time to full-time with my “DJ Business”. As I became better and better with every event I performed at, I focused heavily on customer service and brought a very personalized approach to my clientele, regardless of age, race, or culture. My emphasis was customizing the event to exactly what my client wanted. Fortunately, my skill level and diverse talent allowed me to perform at a variety of events.

During the first half of my DJ career, a local talent agency, Carolina Talent, showed interest in representing me. As a SAG-Eligible Actor, I do a lot of TV commercials, industrial shoots, short films, background work in full feature films, voice-over, and quite a bit of Mascot work (yeah, if you meet Batman/Spiderman/etc at an event, don’t be surprised that it is me in that costume). I had done Improv a couple years ago, but due to time constraints, I have been unable to commit. That is also the reason why I do not perform on stage (plays), in local theatres.

Enough about me, please tell me about you. What passion or talent do you bring to the world to ease its pain? I would really like to know.

Respectfully,

Michael-Joseph: Lamb II
