Wedding Itinerary - Saturday, August 2, 2003

2 p.m.              Ceremony – Begins at 1st Four Square Church in Concord (45 min w/ 45 min travel)

 

4 p.m.              Reception officially begins at Rodi’s with a Cocktail hour.  Refreshments will be available.

 

4:30 p.m.          DJ Lamb announces that guest are welcome to grab something to eat – Buffet style with Heavy Hors D’Oeuvres.  Pleasant music will be played in the background while guests mingle and eat.

 

5 p.m.              Bride & Groom arrive.  Formal Introduction of the Wedding Party by DJ Lamb – “This Will Be An Everlasting Love” by Natalie Cole, V3 #2.
Formal Welcome – DJ Lamb

Formal Blessing – Pastor Morrison

DJ Lamb will make sure that the Bride & Groom, their families, and the Bridal Party get in line first (if there is a line)

 

5:30 p.m.          Mother & Groom’s First Dance = “Song for Mama” by Boyz II Men, RH46    

Father & Bride’s First Dance = “Always Be Your Baby” song by Natalie Grant (Bride’s CD!)
Father will symbolically join the Bride & Groom together for their First Dance = “I Could Not Ask for More” by Edwin McCain, RH55

Bridal Party’s First Dance =  “Unchained Melody” by the Righteous Brothers.  Halfway through, DJ Lamb will invite the guests to come out onto the dance.
Open Dance Floor!

 

6:15 p.m.          Longest Married Couple Dance = “Through the Years” by Kenny Rogers – this will end the dance set and be orchestrated by DJ Lamb.

Formal Toast = 1) Daniel Estes, Best Man – 2) David Berryhill, Groom’s Step Father – 3) Lenny Cordell, Groom’s Father.  NO open mic, that’s it!

                        Formal Cake Cutting = “How Sweet It is” by James Taylor
                        Open Dance Floor!  **  Happy Hallelujahs will make an appearance  **

 

7 p.m.              Bouquet Toss = “Wishin & Hopin” by Dusty Springfield
                        Garter Toss = “Rocky Theme Song” >>>>>> CHAIR!
                        Garter On = “Oh Yeah” by Yello (done DJ Lamb’s way)

Money Dance = Brief intro by DJ Lamb.  Best Man w/ the Bride, Maid of Honor w/ the Groom.  Keep the tradition to about 3 songs; nothing too mushy.

                        Open Dance Floor!

 

7:45 p.m.          Grand Exit = DJ Lamb will instruct guests to get their bubbles and to form two lines outside.  After the newlyweds depart, guests may continue dancing – Open Dance Floor.

 

9 p.m.              Reception officially ends.

 

Ø      Do NOT play Macarena, anything from Ricky Martin, Eminem, and avoid Top 40 Urban Music – keep it clean.

Ø      Do PLAY at least one Polka, Rapture = Blondie (Jake’s Aunt request), Swing/Big Band, Christian, Jump Jive an’ Wail (RH50), Sing Sing Sing (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy) < Don’t have!, Dedication to Groom’s Father & Stepmother Lenny & Sharon Cordell = All I Need To Know (Chesney) < Bride’s CD!, Dedication in loving memory to the Bride’s Late Grandfather, Papa John (Racing w/ the Moon – Her CD!), Hurts so Good (14), Amazed (RH58), When I Fall in Love (Nat King Cole), From This Moment (Twain & White – 430), with an overall variety for all guests.  Okay to be interactive, instruct line dances, and utilize props.  Requests & Dedications acceptable, if appropriate.
